Birthday Getaway // Time Alone

I turned 35th on June 6th and booked a 2-night stay at Oceanstone Seasside Resort to celebrate. I enjoyed my getaway alone. I spent Wednesday to Friday just relaxing. It was much needed. I went to work Wednesday morning for a few hours and then I headed off to the south shore for my stay at Oceanstone. I arrived in the afternoon and hung out in my room until I headed out for supper.

I headed to Peggy’s Cove for supper. It was a beautiful evening. I had Fish & Chips and a Gingerbread dessert. DELICIOUS! I toured around Peggy’s Cove for a bit until it was time to head back . On the drive back to my room I stopped to take pictures along the way. The south shore is gorgeous.

Day 2 consisted of staying in my pj’s for as long as possible. I ventured out for lunch in the rain and then headed back to relax for the rest of the afternoon.

I was surprised at my door with a yummy gift of chocolates from LURE Caramel Co. on Thursday. What a lovely gift! Oceanstone was so sweet. So since it was my birthday I wanted to celebrate with a delicious supper at the Rhubarb Restaurant, located at Oceanstone. They treated me so well. My meal as VERY good and my free dessert was also good, Strawberry Rhubarb Pie with ice cream. I had such a great stay! I totally recommend staying at Oceanstone Seaside Resort.

Friday I checked out and took a lovely drive down the coast. I love the south shore. I took my time heading home. It took my about 3 hours from when I left Oceanstone to when I arrived I Mahone Bay. It should only be an hours drive. It was a gorgeous day to out for a drive. I ventured out and stopped at a few beaches along the way, which I wish I had brought my camping chair so I could sit at the beach with a book, and I loved every minute of it.

I made it to Chester and enjoyed lunch from Big Red’s Restaurant for some pizza and ate it by the waterfront! Such a lovely day for eating by the water.

After lunch I made my way to Mahone Bay for Cheesecake at Joann’s Market.

After a lovely drive in the sun I headed home. I had a fantastic birthday and I plan on doing something like this again next year. If you haven’t done a solo trip, you should! It’s so worth it!
